THE PLAY
Excuse me, my child -- No, don't look around.
I talk with you, but make no sound.
Don't go looking around outside,
for in your soul's where I reside.
All the hate and all the rage
are only stories upon a stage.
Sometimes in all this mass confusion,
we forget this life is just illusion.
Judge not what they seem to say,
for all of life is just a play.
Forgive them the harm they seem to do.
Just sit back and enjoy the view.
Make no judgments, child of mine.
Everything always works out fine.
For all the people with their finery
are only actors in front of scenery.
Find out for yourself what's real.
It's not what you see, but what you feel.
Give up all your efforts to control.
Find my directions within your soul.
In the midst of panic and rage,
it helps to know that life's a stage.
So take a moment and sit with me
in the front row of the balcony.
