JUST AS YOU ARE

If you could just make me understand
I'd throw a party -- I'd hire a band.
If you could just let me within your mind,
I would look around, but I'd be kind.

I know there would be things so strange,
that I probably would want to rearrange.
Then the two of us would think as one,
and all misunderstanding would be done.

But I must view them from afar
and learn to love you as you are.

But it's impossible to get within your head,
so I'll listen carefully to what is said.
You and I share food and drinks,
and wonder how each other thinks.
