FLOWER CHILDREN
I didn’t understand you long ago
My spirituality came "Oh so slow."
Now my spirit is free to soar
And I embrace "Make Love - Not War".
Oh! Flower Children, Where are you,
Where have you gone, what did you do?
Where are the ideals you held so dear?
Were they sold out, did you leave in fear?
Do you sit there now in silence?
While the world’s so consumed with violence.
You people that wore long hair and beads,
It’s your ideals that the world now needs.
The world’s still killing our daughters and sons
Marijuana’s illegal, but we’ve got guns.
Do we wonder now where freedom went?
Did it die one afternoon at Kent?
